Manistee Fly Water 5.3.08

Johnny Cat and I made our annual streamer fishing trip to the Manistee River this weekend. The plan was to camp at CCC bridge and fish from Yellow Trees on down. The road was washed out at Yellow Trees so we launched at Hole in the Fence, about 3 additional fishing hours up stream. On Saturday we rolled a few nice fish on streamers and Johnny put a chunky 15 inch brown in the boat. We hoped for some Hendrickson action in the evening but the cold weather and wind put the bugs down in a hurry. Sunday we made the same float and ended up with a single fish, 18 inches of brown trout, was the day maker. Water temps ranged from 47 in the AM to 54 in the afternoon.

This guy crushed a yellow cone head Zoo Cougar.

Check out the spots!
